As much fun as shooting the snow is, I hope there isn't any more on the way!

Snowpocalypse 2010!

Some are calling it a blizzard. Some are calling it Snowmageddon. I, however, am calling it Snowpocalypse 2010. My normally snow-free New Jersey has been getting slammed with snow since last Friday. Over the weekend we got probably a bit more than 20". Starting Tuesday night and all day Wednesday, we got another  9" at least. People from other states would scoff at that amount of snow, and then hop in whatever 4wd vehicle they own and speed away. New Jersey is unfortunately never prepared for snow. They don't salt or sand effectively, and plowing is laughable.
In the last month and a half since my last post, I have started working on my resolutions.
I managed to cook a recipe from Julia's cookbook, and it was fabulous. Chicken with mushrooms in a cream/port wine sauce. Fantastic! One down, a bunch of others to go.
In other news, Oh, hello friend! is having her package exchange, and I cannot wait! I am so excited to sign up for it. I love pretty packaging! My work was canceled two days in a row, so I'm off to go do something productive with myself while I can! I just reloaded my Holga 135bc with new film, so maybe I will venture out into the 3 feet of snow and snap some images! Definitely need to do something about dinner tonight... cupboards are looking mighty grim....

New Year, New Things.

Hello, Void-that-is-the-Internet!
Welcome to my new blog, Lemons and Whisk. I entreat ye to kick back, relax, have a glass of bubbly, and welcome in the new year. In the coming year, this space will feature recipes I've tried, or found, daily bits about me and my oh-so-interesting-life (ha!), and other non sequiturs.
For now, I bid you a most happy new year that will be 2010, and hope you are spending it with those you love, or those that love you for some reason you still don't fathom.
I know I will be.

10 things I WILL accomplish in 2010:
1. Lose at least 30lbs.
2. Write at least 10 poems
3. Enter NANOWRIMO in November (www.nanowrimo.com)
4. Cook at least 5 things from Mastering the Art of French Cooking.
5. Attempt baking the elusive macaron.
6. Eat at Momofuku in NYC
7. Make my own pasta
8. Audition for a local choir/theater production
9. Buy a nice camera
10. Live, Laugh, Love more.  :3
